Development of Agriculture and Forestry Faculty came to new era since the enforcement of Government Regulation No. 5 1980 regarding principles of state university/institution, and President Decree No. 68 1982 on the organizational structure of Hasanuddin University. The government then issued decree of Education Minister No. 0154/O/1983 as an elaboration of Government Regulation No. 5, 1980, explaining organization and working procedure of Hasanuddin University. This minister decree regulated the segregation of Faculty of Agricultural Sciences into two faculties: Agriculture and Animal Husbandry. Departments and study programmes were also adjusted in complying with decree of Ministry of Education No. 0563/O/1980 and decree of Directorate General of Higher Education No. 108/DIKTI/Kep/1984. It then changed again in 1986 into Faculty of Agriculture and Forestry. The Forestry Department which has long been part of Agriculture and Forestry Faculty parted into a separate faculty in 2007. Thus, the name changed back into Faculty of Agriculture. Since its establishment, the faculty has been led in turns by 13 deans (1962-2015).
